Temas de investigación

As a child I was always very curious and passionate about animals. During my studies, two teachers in particular really passed on their passion for Biology to me. I found it fascinating to learn about the complexity of life around us. That's why I studied Biology at the University of Namur (Belgium). After my bachelor's degree, I followed up with a Master's degree in organisms biology and ecology, co-organised by the University of Namur and the University of Louvain-la-Leuve. I have always liked to diversify my knowledge as much as possible. During all these years, I went on fieldtrip to learn about marine biology by studying algae and crustaceans. Then, two other field trips to specialise in aquatic biology by studying fish and invertebrates as well as terrestrial biology by studying the fauna of insects in mountains. My master thesis consisted of the ecotoxicological impact of the contraceptive pill on aquatic fauna and more specifically on the reproduction of zebrafish. The aim was to compare the current pill with a new pill marketed by a Belgian company that would have no negative impact on the environment. It is therefore following all these experiences that I am concluding my master program with an internship here under the supervision of Dr. Diego Gil. This fieldwork on birds will allow me to add experience in ethology, behavioural ecology and animal physiology to my portfolio.
